Hi! I'm James.

I'm a product designer who thinks good design means resisting the obvious answer — not for the sake of it, but because the obvious answer is rarely the most considered one.

With complex problems I want to genuinely invent, to find the form that fits the context. With straightforward problems, I want the output to have character: something that looks and feels like it was made with intent.

I work across the full arc — talking to users, finding the problem worth solving, designing the solution, and where possible, building it. The quality of what ships matters to me at every stage.

When I'm not at a screen you'll find me bouldering, dancing badly, or deep in a book.
